so last night I got my stimmie hatchy to feed after 3 months of no food.
the trick was 2 live pinkies scented with chicken stock left over night in its tub. Everything was taken out (hide box, the paper substrate) except the 2 pinkies and water bowl.

what an amazing load off my mind.

Big thanks to Fay Smith and Angel Rose who both took time out of the weekend to help out. you guys are the best!!

especially after all the stress and worrying.. its a beautiful thing :D

scented with chicken stock? How did you come to that conclusion? Ive never heard of that before Gerry. Congratulations anyway!! :D

that was something Fay did. I think because they eat birds in the wild? dunno. Fay, maybe you can elaborate? seemed to help do the trick though 8)

Fantastic!!!! No worries Gerry, I am so happy for you and your wife as it is such a worry!
We have a tape of Tracey and David Barker (exceptional American python breeders) and in the tape they dip a rat into chicken stock for the ones that are particulary bad feeders, that is how that happened.
And also a big thank - you to Julie Worley for her input.

Big releif eh Gerry, congrats, hope it keeps on feeding well. :D

Woohoo, im soo happy Gerry, i walked away from your snake absolutely stumped as that is the first failed force feed in 3 years..... but she obviously got a taste for the brains we squirted down her throat, i would've never thought of chicken stock either well done Fay.... Congratulations, i dont think you will have another prob with her, i think she just didnt know she was spose to eat, but she'lkl be right now, i would however like to meet in a dark alley the man who sold you the snake unfeeding and also sells them unfeeding to school kids without a clue.
But thats another matter entirely.

Lovely to meet you, and im so glad i could help.

Angel
