Why do some people seem to be obsessed with how many posts they have made? It's just a friggin number! It does not earn you any kind of status. In fact with some people, the more posts they make, the less respect they earn. It has gotten to the point where I no longer read some peoples posts because they are nearly always dribble.
Just look at how many posts Jeff Hardy has made.Less than 100 but I bet they are more helpful the the 1000+ posts that some people have clocked up in only a matter of months.
There is nothing wrong with a bit of chit-chat. That is what the off-topic forum was created for. Lately it seems every thread is fair game and if a thread goes for more than 2 pages you can bet the last page has nothing to do with the original topic.
Posts with just a smilie or LOL or "I have no idear" are just moronic and only there to try and clock up some more posts on the old counter.
If only Slateman_junior could come up with a way for people to customise their forums settings. It would be handy to block a couple of people and save time wading through all the dribble.

The counter means absolutely nothing, it would probably be better if it wasn't there. Having said that, I don't think there's any harm rambling on about bull$#!t in the chit chat area, that's what it's for. In my opinion, meaningless posts are fine as long as they aren't interrupting serious threads.
