Morning,
My Two-lined dragon laid 4 eggs this morning. It was amazing to watch! How long is the gestation? I've read it's about 80 days but not sure. Anyone ever bred these before? I've never had them so small and I'd like to be prepared should they hatch. Because I live in remote Cape York...
Hi,
Can anyone identify these lizards, especially the small black one. I was thinking water dragon, but these 2 don't seem to fit the patterning. These photos are taken in Townsville (or about 20 minutes north). Bushland, with a large dam/water body near by.
Hey all, flew up to Darwin then headed to Kakadu National Park for the weekend (25th - 29th April). Here is just some of what we found, hope you enjoy the photos :).

So recently I've been doing a bit of herping here and there. My aim for herping this year was to get my list of species of Australian reptiles seen (and positively ID'd) to 200 species. Having completed this earlier this year (in a thread yet to be posted), I decided to head to Qld with some...
i was wondering what species this little guy or girl is and are they in the hobby these pics were taken while i was living in darwin. oh how i miss it.
Doing a bit of a stroll around the place last week I managed a few herp photos that might be of interest here. I'm not the best on ID but others will probably know.
The only snake I managed to get, almost as thin as a boot lace, Furina ornata, Orange-naped Snake.
An interesting turtle...
I was wondering if any of you dragon enthusiasts happen to know of anyone breeding the Chameleon dragon Chelosania brunnea, or Superb two-lined dragon Diporiphora superba, or if they are even available in captivity?
I'm assuming that they are rare if they are available would love to get a...

Hey guys, new here.
Got some shots of (what I feel) is a cool lizard that i crossed paths with at Edith Falls in Nitmiluk Nat'l Park, NT. Just wondering if any experts can manage to identify the little guy.
Cheers!
I've been a little lazy the past few weeks with my herping rounds. So here we go, catching up for lost time and i got myself a new camera that i've been playing around with.
I'm beginning to get pretty bored with snakes, i'll start with a few skinks i've found recently, and i've finally worked...
In continuation from my previous posts, here is the 2nd to last chapter of a herping trip myself and a few friends went on from October-December 2010. Previous posts found below.

Thought that I would post some pictures of some of the herps I've encountered during field work at a site in central Queensland over the last two years.
1. Varanus panoptes (or gouldii)
2. Carlia sp.
3. Gehyra dubia
4. Diporiphora bilineata (south of its known range but recorded at this site...

I found this yesterday walking my dog. This is a new species for me and i'm not sure on what it is. SVL was about 110-120mm, tail about 1.5 times the SVL, it was basking on flat sand stone rocks at about 4.30 in the arvo in the West Arnhem stone country. I know it's a bad pic, but i'm not into...
This is the second and final installment regarding this particular trip. The majority of the time I spent with Kris during his trans-Australia roadtrip was concentrated in the Top End of the Northern Territory. This is an amazing area of sandstone gorges, massive wetlands, extensive mangroves...
This report covers the animals that we saw along the road between Cooktown and the Iron Range. The drive takes about 8 hours or so. The road is mostly dirt with a few sections of paved road. The dirt track up Cape York is well maintained but dusty. We could average between 80-90kph over most...
Hi all,
Would love to find out what this is. I know it's a dragon of some sort.
He looks exactly like the Two-Lined Dragon in my reptile book, but they are suposed to only occur in the far north of the Northern Territory.
I found him in my backyard in Jimboomba, south of Brisbane.
We get plenty...
Hey guys, I'm hoping for a few opinions on the ID of this dragon, taken in Townsville a few years ago (dune vegetation at the top of the beach at Pallarenda to be exact). Now to me it looks like Diporiphora bilineata (Two-lined Dragon). but thats a somewhat superficial opinion, based on pattern...
Hey guys,
These are some pics of critters I found on my trip to cape york, using my limited powers of deduction I figured the snake is a carpet, but don't know what kind, and I have NO idea about lizards, but curious to hear what it is!
can anyone help me out with the exact genus type of this little dragon from cooktown.Im torn between the diporiphora bilineata 0r diporiphora australis. He has no gular fold though small nuchals on back of neck, his black throat comes and goes to his pleasure im sure, and he has a series of 5...
Thought i'd share some of the photo's i took while on holidays recently in and around Cairns.
I have a close friend who's a supervisor in the reptile department at the Cairns Tropical Zoo, so i was lucky enough to get a 'behind the scenes' tour.
Me with some exotics (eh, to hell with...
Hello there,
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, but I need some help with identifying the following three reptiles that I photographed/filmed during my holiday in Australia:
Reptile 1: I think this is an Asian House Gecko, but I'd like to be sure...
My girlfriend and I went hunting down at Karrawatha today for reptiles. We stumbled across four dragons, three large skinks (too fast for photos) and a couple of frogs. We're after an ID on the dragons, which I believe to be an Eastern Two-Lined Dragon (Diporiphora australis).
These first two...
With the arrival of Bryony and the return of Stary_boy, the cairns get together has got going in great fashion.
A trip today to a swimming area up on the tablelands returned some lovely herping.
We saw 2 (unfortunately roadkilled) frill necked lizards.
At the swimming spot we spotted some...
