Captive breeding should not take place in a back yard like that, the music said it all!!

I'm guessing this is in america? Don't you know Americans don't need licenses to keep or breed reptiles

really im moving there

Yes.. They can keep venomous snakes without a license too.. I've seen to many youtube videos of idiot kids with there diamond backs getting bit while there free handling them trying to be 'cool'

An attempt to mate Papa with a female alligator. Unfortunately the experiment didn't turn out well as the female did not survive the mating ritual.

Taken from the info on the posted vid, poor ****ing female, no idea on how alligators mate but if the female didn't survive surey that isn't normal

Thanks

I have no sound at the moment, what was the music? I found it disturbing either way. I can see that alligators might show agression in the wild when a new female is introduced, but seriously, all she wanted to do was get the hell outa there, and by the look of it all he wanted to do was kill her. The ammount of space given to those animals is disgusting. If you're going to introduce two animals in together I realy think your should have an area big enough that they can avoid each other if they wish, rather then chucking them into an area where they're forced to sit next to each other.

From what I've seen on documentaries there was no signs that the male wanted to mate, he was highly territorial (probably that pen wasn't as big as my bedroom) and the animals shouldn't have been left in together.

My opinion anyway.

Introducing large crocodilians to a potential mate is always a dangerous time. Regardless of it taking place in the wild, a zoo or a private breeder.

That video is proof that f-wit rednecks should not be allowed to keep reptiles. Nor should they be allowed to breed, and I don't mean their reptiles. There are times when I am in full support of forced sterilisation.

1. Those alligators weren't mating, they were fighting. Mating is a very gentle affair in crocodilians - lots of subtle visual and vocal signals, bubble blowing etc. No biting, no killing. They make love, not war.

2. In all likelihood, those alligators weren't even large enough to be sexually mature so there was almost no hope of the resident alligator taking a liking to the newcomer.

3. Alligators are territorial and they do not tolerate the presence of others unless they were raised together, in most cases. When there's absolutely no space, it is even worse. That filthy little enclosure wasn't big enough for one, never mind two, alligators.

4. Whenever you introduce two animals, it's always best to remove the resident animal from its home turf, put the newcomer in there to get settled in, then put the first one back in there. Even better, introduce them on neutral territory. Manhandling a frightened animal straight out of its shipping container (and really bad handling that was, with that stupid rope) and into the territory of another animal is just plain idiotic.

5. That small, new alligator gave a clear indication that it wanted out. It was trying to escape. What better way to say "hey, there's a bigger alligator already in there, I need to be elsewhere". The idiot rednecks clearly didn't pick up on that and pushed the poor thing back in.

6. What sort of stupid, idiot, inbred, redneck f-wit introduces an animal with a rope still tied around its neck?!

Crocdoc, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I really dislike the people that made that video. I hope they get what's coming to em.

Not much nature involved there - 100% human interference
