just another question about heating. I have 2ft glass tank which i am going to use for about another 6-8 months.

I put a temp thingo on the ground today, on the hot side. and it only goes up to 24 degrees. i have the heat mat under the glass at the bottom, and the thermal probe in the middle of the tank on a side. The temp outside, as in outside the house is 8 degrees, i reckon the room temp would be around 16ish around.

I have about 2inches of substrate. This i think seems a little cold for the snake. What are my options, should i take out 1cm of substrate or something, or what about additional heating from a globe or something above?

bump! :)

This is my current tank setup. Oh except i have a wooden roof now, and another smaller box hide. and i am going to add some fake plants in this saturday.

Ok so the heat mat is underneath the tank in between the wood bottom and the glass. There is about 2 inches of the substrate stuff in the tank. So i placed the temp thingo on the hot side at it only gets to around 26 degrees. This is at night, but i doubt the room temp will change that much from day to night.

Should i add a light in the tank as well on the right top side? If so what wattage?
