Hi I have a year old Stimy and just a little worried about him not eating..

He had 2 fuzzy mice back on the 20th of Feb and then went into Shed mode. He shed on the 14th of March in which I gave him 1 Weaner mice that night. It has been 11 days since his last feed I usually feed him once a week but he keeps refusing. When should I be worried?? Could he be starting to get ready for winter already??
Thanks

I wouldnt worry just yet, I know its hard not to :) they can go a couple of months without a feed. If he seems healthy and nothing else seems out of the ordinary he should be fine.

He could be cooling down for winter. What temp is his enclosure at? Like crystal said, they can go without eating for ages, so I wouldnt be worrying just yet.

Depending on how big he is, I dont reckon one weaner mouse is enough for a feed for him? My MDP is about 4 months old and already scoffs a fuzzy rat and goes hunting for more straight away.... I would be trying him on pinkie or fuzzy rats when he is ready to eat again, or at least 2-3 weaner mice :)

You can tell if a python needs fattening up, where the belly scales meet the side scales should be firm, smooth....... if it is skinny, the skin will resemble a flat tyre, bulging and loose at the bottom and sometimes you can feel or see ribs (bad)

His last feed after he shed it took me a good 20 mins just to get him to eat the 1 Weaner. Tried a 2nd but he wasn't interested at all. My female stimy in the same enclosure however is a guts she is not refusing feeds.
Temps are around 30 degrees. Other than the not eating he is fine still active at night.

Bump it up a couple of degrees. 32 to 33 at the hot end might get him feeding. However, if he is cooling down for winter, he still might not be interested. Stimmies seem to be very sensitive to the change in seasons, regardless of how good temperatures are in the enclosure.

Where are you, by the way? Is the weather cooling down there?

Yeah that's what I thought. I'm in Perth. It has started to really cool down now at night but during the day it can still be a bit hottish.
