I have a coastal carpet that shed his skin about a week ago.
The thing is now his skin feels really dry and if I handle him his scales
are catching on things. Mostly under his belly.
Any idea what this could be from?

No he has never had any troubles shedding.
Nothing has changed in his enviroment just not sure if its common
or should I take him to a vet?

DOes he look a bit dry qand wrinkly? Sounds to me like the shed has come off too early, but that doesn't happen unless something has helped it come off.

it doesnt sound right to me,get more opinions to see what other ppl think, good luck.Cheers

He has never had this problem befor he always sheds with no problems.
As I said Im just concerned as I dont know if this is a normal thing that will
go away or if he needs to be looked at by a vet.
I was told by one person that there is a cream that you can rub into them
but wasnt told what it was.

might be abit dehydrated, has he got plenty of water?. does he have any retained skin?
i would just get him out and mist him, just hold him up, and spray him with a water bottle then run the moisture into his skin, i have to do this regularly to my scrub and i also do it before every shed with most of my snakes gives them a bit of a helping hand.

Once he has come into shed I mist him. He has two large water dishes
that get cleaned out every two days. I also read that placing him in a
bucket with some water would help him. Would this be a good thing or should I
just spray for now and see how he goes?

i wouldnt soak, thats mainly for problem sheders or snakes that have retained skin.(iv added a pic for an example)

but yeh it sounds like he cant be dehydrated, maybe just make it more dumid, put one of the water bowls at the hot end of tub/enclosure. and yeh misting is good. does the skin look different? any pics? also what substrate do you use?

His skin looks great he has great shine with a nice rainbow
look when out in the sun. I have two large water dishes in his enclouser
one at each end with the humidity around 55% and 65% pretty much all
the time. I will try to add a pic of him..
