Hey guys, i'm quite concerned about my Gammon ranges python, he's shed a little early, hasn't eaten this week, seems a bit slower than usual and has drunk his water bowl dry JUST TODAY! I think I've heard somewhere about snakes drinking more than ususal, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My threads been on here for 50 minutes now and not a single view! The guy thats wondering whether he should set up a facebook page for a SKINK is getting more views and replies!!!!

Thankyou newtolovingsnake, i'm glad some people care more about the life of snakes than whether or not a facebook page should be made for an skink. Anyone else who has any ideas about what might be goin on please let me know, as i would hate to loose such a beautiful snake. Thankyou.

Ring an after hours vet isn't there one on the show bondi vet? Sasha or so
Something and see if a rep vet is on call that could answer it over the phone if its serious or not while you wait? Can't help other than that sorry but one of them may =] hope he's ok

Im monitoring him very closely and researching as much as I can, I will have to take him to the vet if his condition deteriorates. thankyou for your concern Littlemay :D

Poor thing, hope he perks up. Don't wait if he doesn't start to get better soon, personally i would take him now just to be on the safe side.

I'm trying to save up for a car, so I dont have much money I can spend, how much do you think the vet would cost to do a checkup on him? Can't vets treat native animals for free? or is that WILD native animals?

Hi, would you mind taking a photo of the enclosure, it might give us some glues.
Also can you let us know temps at basking spot and temp also cool side.
How long between sheds?

IMG_2239.jpgView attachment 221459This is his enclosure, I was unsure about using sand, but I eventuallt decided on it as he comes from a rocky, sandy region and spends most of his time on the rocks or on the branch. I feed him outside of his cage. The cage temp is 24 degrees

sorry about pic quality, good camera is playing up :/

Working now. I'm not really experienced enough to give out advice on sick snakes, but i will say that excessive drinking is a bad sign for any animal. I would pull together the dosh and take him to the vet asap, he could get better with time, or he could get a lot worse and have lost a window where treatment would have been helpful.
