hey guys i think i got myself into a pickle.

I'm fairly new to the reptile scene. i got a coastal carpet python about 1 month ago and i wasn't told that a movement advice was needed to purchase any reptiles. the only reason that i found this out is because i went and purchased a blue tongue skink and the guy told me that my form wasn't filled out properly. and i rang the guy that i purchased it off cant get into contact with the previous owner as he has moved house. So any info and advice would be good at the moment.

i have been told that i might have to surrender my python as a result to this.

yeah, you will just have to ring the environment people from your state and see what you can do. but if surrending your python is what it takes to not risk your entire future collection, it may be the best thing to do.

yeh i wont have any problems giving it up to save my license. but it will be hard as me and my wife are attached to him

yeah i can imagine. i wouldn't give up any of my babies. even though half of them like to bite me! but your first snake is always your favourite too, so it will be hard. but i'm sure if you explain the situation, they may be able to sort something out.
at least you will be upfront and honest. it would be a different story if they found out about it doing a random house check etc. this way you are telling them everything.

they wont take ur snake mate. if they try to take it. say it carked it. they'll know what to do.

And lying will just make the matter worst. Just be straight up with them. If they need to take the snake let them. They might even let you keep it. You never know!

if you live in QLD and only have a few snake, you will not get a vist my friend, not in yr wildest dreams. ur low priority

cool thanks mate. will do, i dont want to be the one getting stung from all this.

i did that once, forgot the bloody import permit although we did have the export permit at the other end.
do what i did, put a letter down in writing and send it to them. We all make mistakes, but you need to be honest and upfront with them. In the end they phoned me and told me not to do it again and everything would be ok, They did not confirm this in writing although i have detailed all the correspondence we had, if anything crops up. I find the department in Vic to be incredibly quick, responsive, and friendly to deal with, in regards to herp related issues. Its refreshing.
Good Luck

Show us some pics of your collection mate as yours
must have some crackers hey :)

LOL you mean google had some crackers!!

Just be honest, they are not a big bad monster, be calm and polite, you wont have a problem.
