Hey folks
My name is Miles
I have been keeping reptiles for three and a half years
I have been living in Dublin. Keeping all manner of things such as:
* corn snakes
* king snakes and jungle corns (corn x king)
* bull snakes
* gopher snakes
* pine snakes
* boas
* burmese pythons
* copperhead vipers
* mangrove boigas

Now I want a snake. Am on a little bit of a budget. Hots do not scare me. Maybe they should.
I see a wall of carpet pythons whenever I go to a reptile shop here and it is depressing me.
There are less carpets in a rug store!
Anyhow, I dont mean to diss carpets, as I have had them before, but I dont like my pythons.
I prefer a colourbrid head/body/look.

So what do I do? do i get a brown tree snake? Not that keen on boigas either
So a black headed python?
Budget issue
RBBS / BBBS ?
Where do I get such an animal
What other choices?
Tiger snakes?
Do I catch my own?

Please advise. Feel free to text also 0406473896

Thanks folks

Welcome to APS.
This website is probably not the best website to ask for sellers as most of the users are from Australia and its illegal to export our snakes from here. But someone might be able to point you in the right direction.
But good luck in the search mate.
Post up some pics of your animals, would love to see them.

Best way would be to have a browse around on this site, and maybe have a look in the gallery.

And no, dont catch wild snakes or any aust native animal, you will get locked up. Hehe

Which state? It will help us give you the advice you request.

Also there are corns etc in aust, but they shouldnt be. You will get into alot of trouble owning exotics here as well..

Start off with applying for your license with your state Authority. Once you have that then see which species you can legally keep in your state. Then go from there

btw a friend of mine in the uae had a serval
i think it was a serval
imported it as a 'labrador puppy'
got it through

Neat.. Although why didnt the guy just get a savannah cat, same thing...

what elapid should i start with?

blue bellied black?
tiger?

Not sure in Vic but if you don't already have your licence you might have to apply for the basic licence first then build up the time to have a more advanced licence, at least in NSW.
