Howdy folks, anybody else catch this show on fox the other day?
Was some crap amongst it but had some absolute classic highlights such as:
Snake show wally teasing up a monacled cobra and then getting his belly chewed on by it as he put it back in it's box!! He fully deserved it!!
A snake farm guy getting himself temporarily dead by changing a light globe solo inside his twenty something feet long retics enclosure. Broke his golden rule of three guys present anytime anyone is in the cage.
When the retic wrapped him up him a good percentage of his blood apparently made it's way very quickly to his head and the last thing he felt before losing consciousness was his eyes about to leave their sockets!! A cleaner unfortunately killed the snake as it was about to eat the guy. Paramedics rescusitated him - with a little brain damage.
They made a simulator of a big python that would generate the squeeze of a big anaconda that they read somewhere as 30 psi. Our cobra hero volunteered for a go in it and made it to 22 psi before bailing out. A medical dummy thing with ribs the same as ours was then thrown in there and it's ribs busted at 25 psi.
Anyhow one thing they were trying to ascertian was whether constrictors killed by asfixi um suffocation or what. They had cobra hero all hooked up to medical stuff and his blood pressure and other stuff told the paramedic he was going to be way dead from that way before he'd get the chance to suffocate. Very interesting.
As I said there's some crap amongst it but some good bits - they were calling a big burm a retic at one stage too, but I think that was just the narator.
Bye, Steve.
