I'm looking for the 3-4 litre water bowls that you attach to the fence and they have a little float valve to keep them always full. I want a plastic/stainless steel one not powder coated metal one as I don't want it rusting on me. Cheapest i've found so far is $57 posted for a 4 litre one on ebay, anyone seen anything else?

$57 sound pretty fair to me. I used to pay about that 30 years ago when they first came out. You could make you own , but a float valve will cost $10-20 ,which you could mount in a plastic tub and you'd still have to make a bracket. Any livestock/fencing/stock and station store will have them -crt type stores. Geoff Andrews used to be the distributor and I think his sons still operate the business.

If you dont value your time you could make something out of 100mm PVC with the float inside the horizontal pipe and the top of the other end of the pipe removed to create a trough.
