Ridiculous speed & hatchling size

I'm no expert on Burmese Pythons but this can't be true!
The snake, which can travel at up to 35mph

I reckon that there's no way a Burmese Python or any python or any snake (or lizard for that matter) can travel at 35 mph, which is 56.32704 km/h!

Pythons are slow moving snakes as snakes go.
Although they may be capable of turns of speed, it's ridiculous to state that they can go that fast!

Where do these journo's get these figures from?
They've gotta be just making it up.
It's not even close!

Scare-mongering!

Also, this can't be right:-
"These snakes are only a couple of inches long where they first hatch

I'll bet a hatchling Burmese is not 2 inches/5 cm long!
I've heard of exaggeration, but this is ridiculous!

LOL 35mph, I wonder why snakes have a bad wrap? HAHA a couple of inches.

I would love to find a Burmese Python in my back yard, I would be STOKED!! Even if it did bite me.

Its no surprise really. Keeping any snake of that size, particularly a 13ft burmese python, in a tank is asking for trouble. An 'experienced snake keeper' should realise this. Ownership of any animal capable of causing loss of life requires some responsibility, and it is obvious that this incident was caused by bad husbandry practices.

As for the 35mph statement, I would be extremely surprised if a mamba was capable of moving at this speed, let alone a large python.
