I helped a mate do some snake work for his australian shoot, might be put on, but the guy still does it......funny i agree, but he still does it.

We just had help to do some of the scenes.....better not to say to much....dont know if i'm allowed to....

What most people dont realise is these film companies are on a budget, they have limited time, and to capture something naturially may take weeks so most of it is staged....getting slammed by a snake however wouldnt be on the script, but makes for good tv.....

I'd like to see him play with Australias meanest and deadliest elapids....
Couldn't agree more,i think he's been tagged by a ven in most of his shows,plays it up for the camera and stirs the hell outa the snakes to get photos and is nearly always a fraction away from being nailed.....i bet he dies from snakebite one day or his body fails after being bitten so often.

I think what you guys are all forgetting is the one fact that it is show business!!!! And whats show business number one priority (apart from money)???
ENTERTAINMENT!!
And after watching his crusades on the hunt for the King cobra (that a member here was kind enough to tape off cable and mail it to me) thats exactly what he is.....entertaining!.

He entertains me about as much as watching a besser block......plus he's a full blown queen"not that there's anything wrong with that".....
I will say tho when he was playing with that 16 ft King Cobra i found that very entertaining only because of the shear size of that snake not the dill trying to pat it on top of the head :roll:

I don't care if he is idiot or not, But I will watch his programs anytime. Better than Days of Your Live or some other stupid shows.
Mostly I do enjoy any programs with snakes and wildlife. Our Steve Irvin is no different than Austin in my wiew.
I just watch this shows for entertiment. I am glad that they are produced and I do understand that people who making them must make profit. Not many people in audience do have serious interest in reptiles, so sceene must have some type of drama for ordinary person to bring the ratings. If the sceen would be only educational and realistic, we soon would have non to watch.
