hi all this year so far i have hatched 20 water dragons but to my suprise i also hatched 6 bearded dragons. now my water dragons being so easy to feed chased sml crickets around on the first day they were born but what techniques do people use to get there beardies to eat its day 4 now and can't seem to get them to chase crickets have tried some beardie pellets soaked in orange juice to soften them up with no success are hatchlings to young to eat sml meal worms or not any suggestions would help
thanks ratsnakeroger

you should get some pin head size crickets for your baby beardies and just throw them in the tank you have them in if that dont work i would get some one to help you open the mouth of one while you put a cricket in its mouth this is the only way i know of getting them to eat but there might be some other methods out there

cheers

no need to try force feeding yet , some beardies can take a week or so to start to eat . u can try mashed peas with a little water , and see if they will lick it off a spoon.

My Eastern Beardies are just over 1 week onld and chasing small crickets everywhere. I also have a small dish with fine grated carrot.mashed mixed vegies, shredded baby spinach and mini meal worms all sprinkled with calcium as soon as they see the movement they are off on the chase. Check temps I keep mine at 32c and a uva-uvb globe seem to work fine

thanks for the quick response are using quite sml crix have bread them myself wont last long though as water dragons are smashing them will try some of your options thanks . any more help would be appreciated
