Hi all,
Just had a question about my Beardie, as I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.

I've just fed my central beardie his fill of crickets for the day. One of the crickets I gave him was a fair bit larger than the other ones.

Anyways, since eating it, he has had one of its legs hanging out his mouth and its been like that for the past 10 mins.

Is he gonna choke? May he get impaction from it?
I am tempted to grab a pair of tweezers and remove it.

Any light you can shed on the topic will be much appreciated by me and my beardie.

Cheers
Kev

either way, hes either choked now or gotten it down, (i'm assuming its down)
if youre worried about impaction make sure he basks and has good heat to digest it, if its undigested its more likely to cause probs than if its turned into poo. :p

He is tiny, still a baby. When I take him outta his enclosure he clutches onto my finger.
His body, not including his tail is probably as long as my index finger.
Here is a photo of him/her on my keyboard, just so you have something to guage his size with
Sorry bout the crap quality but mum took my digital camera overseas, but at least you can see his size, pic was only taken a few days ago

what size are the crickets in mm. if they are like 3-5mm there shoudnt be a problem.
if your worried about impaction, as chris said make sure he is at his basking spot and that the enclosure is warm enough...
that will make it easier for him to digest...
any other suggestions guys???

Thanks heaps guys.
Anyways, you guys were right.
I went at the leg with a pair of tweezers and there was nothing attached to em, looks like it was just stuck to his/her mouth.
I thought there was something wrong because when I went to grab the leg earlier with my fingers, he pulled away, which he doesnt usually do. Then he spent the next 15mins sitting in his water bowl on the cool side. He usually climbs his branch on the hot side after a feed to get closer to his light, so I thought something may be up.

Anyways, thanks guys, I feel stupid now, being something so minor, lol, it never occured to me that the leg was sticking to his face and I really thought there was a whole cricket attached to it stuck somewhere in his throat lol, idiot me.

Anyways, I'll make sure to leave his light on for a couple extra hours tonight
