I wasn't as lucky as some of you, to have your better half loving reptiles as much as you do... That is why I was so shocked when a beardie that was sent to me from a lovely lady down in Melbourne won my bf's heart!! When we unpacked him together, the dragon woke up and climbed out of the box and ran! and...my bf chased after him laughing like a kid! I was like...WHAT THE!! It was love at first sight. It was the happiest moment of my life!! *LOL* now he is buying a new enclosure for him and I am allowed to get more!! They are gorgeous, gorgeous animals!! I haven't seen any posts which commented on their partner's initial dislike of reptiles? I was just wondering if there were any stories like mine?

Lol, similar difficutlies, I don't know what I'm going to do about finding a girl that would share my love for herps :p Most people think its slightly weird that that's near the top of my list of requirements

Moth just seemed to tolerate the beardies, but after he got to see them in action he liked them and started bringing home hollow logs and rocks for them.
Then we wanted snakes and he was hesitant, he didn't like the idea of constrictors in the house and had a recurring nightmare about being choked to death in his sleep. (truly!!)
He even bought Astro a snake 1st because she doesn't live with us.

lol Chicken the MD was our first own snake and she was small and placid enough to put his mind at ease Thankyou again Artie. :). So, now he asks what we want to get next. :)

EM x

I love the big scary black beard he has on.... cool.

I just got some adult beardies too and they are so cool, i couldnt resist and had the female out last night and she was just kicking back on the couch with me checkin stuff out. And this morning the male was watching me get ready for work so i gave him a scratch on the back and he seemed to like it. They are so cool, i think i have found my favourite reptile.

Thanks Muddy, they are tops!!!

Cheers, Alan.

aww thank you Jimmy!! He is beautiful!! However, if you do find a gf in the future that doesn't like reptiles, it may be very very boring for you. I can't help but talk about my reptiles atleast twice in the every hour that I'm awake. :p

gotta love the little cuties ;)

Hehe Bryony, can you imagine being stuck with a man who can't even tolerate talking about reptiles?? I would probably sleep talk about my reptiles from all the pressure, and to make up for all those lost hours!! And yes... EVERYONE thinks my little spotted python is not only "slimy" to touch but is also venomous, and it IS quite entertaining!!

I've come to the conclusion that she doesn't have to like them just put up with them......now i gotta find one that will put up with them :)
