Hello all,

Unfortunately tonight one of our cats caught and really damaged a Green Tree Frog. They have caught quite a few here, but on nearly every occasion the frogs have given us there distress call so we know the cats have one in there grasp and we can save them.

We didn't hear a thing tonight sadly, so being beyond help we collected him up put him in a freezer bag and put him in the freezer.

Is this an ok way to do it, or can others share better methods?

Thanks
Scotty

Fridge is better, apparently less painful. But a bit of dettol on the skin will knock him over in a few seconds, however this will cause him some pain.

Most humane way would be to squash his head.

For 1 you shouldn't put them strait in the freezer always put them in the fridge first

The beast way is a brick Like junglepython said

Also what is you cat doing out side in the first place????

mabe lock up the cat inside before it gets dark ,or keep in aviary .Should put attacked animal in fridge first to put it to sleep first before freezer to kill :|

All answers so far have been incorrect, the best way to put the cat out of it's misery is 1 bullet to the head.

Hiti it with a hammer or brick, or better yet hit your cats with a hammer or brick to prevent it(or just lockem up).

Hello again,

Our cats always come in at night, its the frogs that often come inside. I will do the fridge thing from here on in.

Thanks everyone.

maybe try permanently keep cats inside and frogproof your house/doors/windows...

Fair enough in some cases such things arnt practically avoidable, but cats still kill stuff during daytime too. It was just a common frog anyway.

Another good way is it put it in a small plastic bag then swing it with full force against the brick wall, that will kill it instantly and you can just throw the mess out straight away It's never nice doing that but we did it with really sick fish that you could not save at the aquarium shop. Worked instantly every time.
