Hi guys, my bhp is 3-4 days in to a shed cycle, hazy eyes and hiding etc.
I normally feed him on a monday, today, just wondering whether i do or wait til the shedding is done?
Any advice will be much appreciated!

cheers

Try it and see. I believe it helps get the skin looser for the shed but not all snakes do it.

Both my bredli's feed during their shed cycle, However my Stimson doesn't want a bar of it, just depends on weather or not the snake will take it? I'd say give it a go.

Why is your snake in a toilet?

BHP's are pigs, they will eat whatever and whenever (most of them).
You can feed him today.

I've had to cut skin of snakes before because of a big bulge and they can't get the skin past it its only really happened to tens but I'm sure it can happen to pythons its best to leave them while there shedding and feed once there done

He'll be fine if you just leave it till after shedding, he won't starve lol. You can just give him a good feed after he sheds to make up for it.

I had defrosted a bowl of mice/rats for a feed the other day. It wasn't until I noticed when moving a couple to the feeding tubs that 2 had milky eyes, I offered it to them anyway but they weren't interested.

Toilet training perhaps?

Seriously though, why is it in the toilet? :?

Lol I was sitting here trying to figure out where in the OP it mentioned a snake was in the toilet, then I saw the avatar... Now I am intrigued too...

lol, not my bhp in the dunny, thats from a small town news article about a bhp that turned up in the toilet of a 9th floor apartment.
So the update...i wiggled a mouse in front of the hide he's in and he popped out and chomped it.
Although he was really pissed off for about an hour after that, sort of striking at the glass when i walked past. I put it down to not having great vision coz of the cloudy eyes, and being in feed mode. Sound about right? I just left him alone and now he's back in the hide.
Oh and i'll get some photos up when he's shed, he's a champ

My womas in shed atm he will eat if offered but I personally prefer to wait a couple of days after he sheds

I don't feed my guys when they are shedding, getting their skin stuck is one reason.
But mainly I don't think it would kill them to wait until after the shed.
My BHP hides and wont take food anyway, I reckon they have enough to think about without
bringing food into the equation.

His shed was a screaming success! almost in one piece, thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated!
