Big red belly

Had a close encounter with this guy/girl this morning while fishing in Coffs Harbour. It was cruising through the mangroves, not where I was expecting to see one!! Anyway, I know absolutely nothing about elapids, but I'm curious....
Is this a gravid girl or just a nice big healthy snake? Growing up in
S.E Queensland I saw many red-bellies but I don't remember them being so "fat"? Beautiful snake either way

there not gravid this time of year,there often robust lookin animals,such a pleasure to come across
