Hi everyone, just wondering what black and white/ ivory jungles are classified as, are they naturally occuring? Or are they a product of selectively breeding black and yellow jungles that yellow is really light? What would you call this jungle that i picked up? I have no idea what his parents look like.

from the photo i would call that jungle 'angry' this is fairly common though so nothing to worry about.

I bought a black and ivory jungle off Bob Withey early last year whos siblings are solid black and gold.
Nice looking Jungle anyhoo, how old is it?

Hi ByJungle,
Do you get a new jungle every week? Lucky B----! :D
From what I hear with jungles it is just a lottery to see what colours they produce, Ordinary adults can produce stunning offspring and vice versa. I have not heard of white ones in the wild, I am no expert though, so don't take me as gospel truth!!
How white is he? It looks to have a tinge of yellow still.
Maybe you should start a common name for them - Magpie Jungles? Any other suggestions - someone must of christened blonde macs!

Cheers

Both nice snakes of course, but, Yeah, the black and gold do it for me! :)
Check out my juvenile ' apricot' jungle, I will have more photos posted soon because I would love some feedback - but I threw this photo up to show another contrast (even if he is juv and hasnt developed full colours yet). His black is just sooo black, there is a definite yellow/gold coming through. My inexperience may be showing because I haven't seen many other juveniles and he may be average, but he looks very different to his lemon sibling

white jungles

hi.
yep johns ( c.c ) is on the money. there can be white/cream jungles come from any area really but are mostly produced from atherton forms.
there is how ever some jungles that come from cape trib that are extremly clean white in colour .

http://pandmreptiles.esmartweb.com/photos/assorted/white.jpg

thats a link to a picture on one on our site. im pretty sure that is what john is refering to. they are easy to pick the differance and is a wild population of this form, they can be found in two locality but the second groupe dosent seem to be quit as clean as the first. that pic is of a wild animal that was in the care of a pws ranger.
with the attension that this form has got over the last few years from keepers and our local parks deptment for obvious reasons pure animals of this form wont be seen in clasifide adds for sale for a while yet..lol
hope that helps.
cheers paul.
