Hi there.
I just brought my first black headed python and I noticed this weird looking patch on her eye. It doesn't look milky like it usually does when snakes are about to shed but I guess I have never seen a Black headed shed before. A guy there told me to use some aleo vera on it but i'm not 100% sure if I should and was just wondering if anyone else had seen this? I was told her last shed was on the 6th of March, and it seems to be getting worse I think

I would be concerned about that, and speak to the person you got it from and the vet.

As cement said; call the breeder asap, and take it to a vet (but don't get any treatment untill you've spoken to the breeder)

When i spoke to the pet shop they said it was just her scale and it would come off during her next shed, but i was just wondering what other peoples opinions were

Where did you purchase her from? Was the mark visible when you got her? It's not typical shedding colouration although she looke like being ready to shed by the body. I would be taking her to a vet with reptile experience if possible.

i got her from best friends pet shop in point cook and yea it was visible and when i asked they said it would come off with her next shed

If I had to guess I would say some type of infection is causing it.I wouldn't be waiting for the animal to shed before seeing a vet if it were mine.

Ahhhk. I'll definatly take her to the vets then. What should I say to the pet shop? Do you thint I should be asking them to pay for her treatment or somthing. I only just brought her about 2 weeks ago

Yeah it doesn't look like a shedding problem/retained scale, looks more 'deepseeded' then that...

can you send a pick of the rest of the snake, ie its body
