Hi all,

yep another one of them questions about keeping snakes together....
im just wondering what age they can permenently share enclosures. they are about 9 months at the moment and are happy to hang out with each other for short periods. (they are male/female pair)

thanks in advance

not sure about a specific age but mine have been kept together on/off for 4 years.

Yeah my brother had 3 Childrens together for years, and never had a problem. I'm thinking they should be fine at this age. If.they were both males would they be aggressive already? Or is that just adults?

My mate breeds anteresia and he has pairs together from 6 months onwards. He keeps them separate the first 6 months to get them feeding well and then places them in unfamiliar territory and watches them like a hawk, so far he hasn't had a problem.
He sexes all of his though.

In terms of your question about whether or not they will be aggressive with each other or if it is only adults. I have heard of some hatchies combatting at a young age (Males) but they were around the 1 year old mark. It depends on the snakes as well.

It's up to you.

@ Venomous_rrb Hatchies are not Hatchies at a year old... they are Juvies and I gaurantee they were well feed 18mth old's..... combatting in their first breeding season for a mate. JMO
In my breeding trials I find it best to keep them seperate and introduce the male on a weekly basis on and off to keep him interested in the female.
But to answer OP's question I would keep them seperate as they should not be kept together until breeding season and both at breeding size.

Your right Congo, sorry had a long day, not thinking.
Yes they are juvies/yearlings.

I am not saying it is right what he does, was just explaining what he does with his mac's.
I do not have much info on keeping pythons together as I do not keep any of mine together unless breeding them.

Edit: in terms of combatting, he has witnessed them combating as juvies (Around a year old) however he power feeds his snakes as well, so this probably explains it a bit more.
