Hey Y'all

Im only fresh here and to snakes and ill introduce my self later on.
How ever i have a slight problem. I recently bought myself a blonde spotted python.
She is a yearling and about 80cm long. Her first shed came along (about 2 months ago) and her skin come off in all little pieces. The largest chunk being her head n part way down her body which was about 5cm long.

Other pieces stuck and wouldnt come off so i gave her a bath and the rest finally came off. She ate and behaved as normal.

She started shedding about 1 week ago. She had a lot of trouble this time. The largest chunk that came off by itself would only be about 2cm long. We gave her a bath and most of it came off including a 10 - 12cm piece. How ever she still has a large chunk near her head and also her eye scales are part on and a piece across her nose.

Im lost for ideas. We have increased humidity in the tank. Given her spagnum moss in a container which she loved. she eats and is healthy. And i gave the tank a clean about 2 weeks before she shed. Is it normal that she should have so many problems at a young age or is there something wrong with her. (unhealthy snake , environment) Also what can i do to get this skin off her or should i go to the vet / pet shop?

THanks in advance. Ill post some pictures of her once she has finished shedding.

hello, i am new to python keeping to.. and u r doing the right thing by uping the humidity,do u spray/mist her with a spray bottle???
but i know that u shouldn't use the shedding spray for pet shops.. something about it taking to many layers of skin off snakes??? please correct me anyone.....
but good luck :)

Your humidity probably isn't high enough. Mist it once a day and/or put a large water bowl in the warm end when you see the eyes go cloudy and the next shed should be fine

Snakes having rough shed at this time of the year is not uncommon. During winter the humidity is usually much lower than summer and so some need a bit of help.

Give them a spray with water until the skin comes off.

I have a bowl at both ends of the tank. One directly over the heat mat and the other in the cold end. I shall start misting the tank. I also put her in a damp pillowcase as old mate at the petshop suggested.

i had a juvie coastal he had shedding problems, and i used sorbolene cream on him with good results, but the next cream ill get will be an emu oil cream.
