Hi, i have a pair of blotched blue tongues that finished their Brumation on 1-9-14. i kept them separated and put them together once in a while to make them breed, they eat, poop, drink normally.

They bred on 22-9-14, ever since after that, my male wouldn't eat dog food or woodies (what i feed them normally) and is losing weight, he only ate 2 snails and 5 pinkies from then to now.

He is losing a lot of weight because he is running around in his enclosure all the time, could this be due to breeding season and him trying to find more mates? he weighs 300g now!! i can start to see his hip-bone.

Female is doing fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have always kept my blotched Bluies hot spot at 40c. I find that they like to heat up to about 35-36c and move on.
Try bumping up your hot spot and see how you go. Also, try sweet peas, see if he can turn those down.
