Hi guys, Having a prob with my bluey. His last shed has left BANDS around his front arms making them swell up terribly, Ive been soaking him in warm water for a few days and spray him with Repti-mist also but it just wont come loose. Any more tips from more experienced people would be appreciated.P1010843.jpgP1010842.jpg

i know this is mean ! but looks like he has been doing way to many pushups :p sorry cant help

You may have to pick it off with tweezers little by little. Is there only one lot of shed skin there or a few that have built up?

get the tweezers to that asap pick away as much as you can and if you cant fix it and theres no change by morning id defiantly take him to a vet to get fixed up, otherwise them little legs of his will drop off

Pretty sure its just the one shed, I was away working for a week and my kids were feeding and watering him, he certainly wasnt like this last weekend. Might be a trip to the vet, anyone know a vet for reps around Maitland.

wow...looks like an assistance is in order, soak em for awhile then try pulling em off?
i might be extra careful tho, those joints look like they might fall off any second
just be gentle with the tweezers

Ok I was at it till 1am this morning plucking and soaking. I obviously need to sort out the humidity problem, BUT I am happy to say I got it all off and when I checked this arvo the swelling is starting to subside. It didnt seem hamper his movement nor did it seem to cause him any pain so fingers crossed he makes a full discovery.

freaking jeebus, thats crazy looking!!

good to hear u got it off tho, ive never seen anything like it!!

is his name Popeye? :p

Swelling hasnt gone completely, but its on its way out. Ill see how its progressing tomorrow, might be a trip to the vet yet.

The swelling would be due the blockage of the blood supply to the legs and toes. Now that you've removed the shed, you should notice any improvement in the limbs. In future sheds, make sure there is no constriction to the legs or toes due to improper shedding. It can cause loss of limbs so keep an eye on it next shed. Glad all seems ok

Yeah, Ive got three of the little buggers. I really need to fix the humidity, never had a problem till I started using the AC to heat the house.
