Hello all,

About 6 weeks ago I built a blue tongue viv (4x2.5x2) out of pine, VJ board lining, with a melamine bottom and plywood top. It has sliding doors on front.

It's been coated with 2 coats of Cabots stain/seal product, which is low VOC, and allowed to dry/cure for 6 weeks, sometimes in the sun, other times inside with a heater and fan in it.

There's still a faint lingering odour in it that isn't fading- faintly piney, but maybe the smell of the stain/seal stuff.

Would it be okay to put the lizards in it, or is it too soon? If it's too soon, does anyone know how long it should take to cure? We're in Tassie, so it's not terribly hot here.

Bicarb soda in a saucer inside the tank, or cut an onion and leave the two halves in the tank. Either should get rid of the smell.

Is the Cabots product water based?

I'll chuck a couple halves in as well.

Thank you for your help!

That worked excellently! Thank you!!!!!!!
