Hey guys I've currently got a beautiful spotted and was looking to add a Bredli to my collection. I was recently given a large fish tank i'm just wondering how realistic it is to keep a Bredli in a glass enclosure given the large size needed and how quickly glass loses heat :)?

Glass enclosures aren't really practical for any type of snake setup due to the amount of heat loss and thus excessive energy requirements.
Also for Bredli; generally glass tanks aren't of a practical size for them once they reach adulthood. Mine are all well over 6ft at 2 1/2yrs of age for example, and I'm currently in the process of building 4'x4'x2' melamine enclosures as permanent homes from their current 4'x2'x2' enclosures.

Cheers for the info, yeh the tank is 4x2x2 :)
how much do melamine enclosures that size go for?

$500-$600 retail. It's much easier to either DIY build one or get someone to custom build you one.
I'd do it for much less for ya but we're in different states...

That's where I was going with it... Lol. I've been considering knocking up some enclosures to sell, but I only know one person on here who lives in Mackay and he's moving in a couple of months lol.

Definitely go DIY. Super easy to screw some timber together at any size you want and much cheaper.

Cheers for the info guys I think is what I will do, I possibly have a mate from uni that would do it, I know he does his own timber ones :)

We just moved our 7 yr old bredli from the glass tank we got him with into a melamine enclosure. He seems to like it, except he can't be nosy and watch what's going on around him as much.
