My spotted pythons heat lamp in his cage is broken & he has been without significant heat for a week (5 days). I have tried replacing the heat lamp, but it smells of burnt plastic, I think the actualy element itself is broken.
I am worried about my snake getting lathargic & sick - possibly even dying - if this problem is not fixed ASAP.
I was wondering what alternatives I could use in the meantime to help keep him warm & active whilst I organize a replacement?
I have considered heating the temperating in the room around his cage by using heaters, an open oven (to raise the temperate in the room of course!), or putting his cage in front of heater to help keep him warm?
I am also tihnking of taking him to work & leaving him in my car for a bit (with ventilation/air flow & water of course!) in the sun, but I am worried that someone might try & steal him that way as well.
Any suggestions? All help appreicated!
