I've just finished giving Herman (spotted python) a bath to help him shed, as he always seems to have trouble with shedding...Anyway, while I was holding him I noticed some small brownish marks on his belly. They aren't perfect spots, but little marks at the edges of a few scales. There's not alot of them, maybe across 3 scales then on a couple further back. They don't cover the whole scale, only on the ends. Any ideas???

Could it just be the snakes genetic pattern,on the scales changing as it grows,-?otherwise ive had scales go discoloured on the end, if there has been a small injury or wound.
Id be discounting scale rot though, its sometimes hard to identify in early stages, but once it takes hold, it can be very nasty.Best of luck anyway.A picture, of the spots would help if you can get one up. Cheers
