I have got an old tv entertainment unit I am converting into cages. Each side has an area with a glass door H 1100mm x W 500mm. The center hole is H 800mm x W 800mm.

With the 2 side areas I was wondering where to place the vent, top or bottom of cage?, and on the back towards the wall or on the side? These cages are for snakes.

And in the middle I want to divide it into 3 sections. Top level H 400mm x W 800mm and bottom 2 cages both H 400mm x W 400mm. Again should vents be at top or bottom of cage? and on the back towards the wall or on the front? And these cages are for lizards. Beardies and geckos.

I have some crim safe I will be using as vents.

Sorry if hard to understand or if asking to many questions, just want it right.

Sorry if I misunderstood but it sounds like you're basically asking the same question but for slightly different situations. Generally it's better to have vents a bit lower down so the heat doesn't escape too easily (as you know heat rises).
You also probably want them on the sides because if they are on the back they probably wouldn't get much airflow against a wall so be pretty ineffective.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for that. Basically thats what I thought just wanted second opinion. So about two thirds the way up should be okay?
