Hello, found this today and was wondering if anyone knew what it belonged to. it was 120g and i found it near Heathcote in Sydney.

it was sort of just sitting on the soil not really covered or anything, there was a small pond nearby didnt see any nests in the trees nearby.

You could always try and incubate it. Don't forget to turn the egg about three times a day if it is a bird egg.
You never know what is could be.

Hey Leeman, this is quite irrelevant but i live in Engadine :) right next to heathcote. If i was you i would incubate it, but i wouldnt kill it...

I reckon you should incubate it too and see what comes out...if you do, let us know

maybe a pluver they just lay there eggs anywhere but they usually stay with them try chase after people that get near as said incubate it see what happens impossible to tell exactly

any temperature suggestions? it was really cold, assumed it might not need much incubation if any

Pretty hard to tell what it needs to be kept at since you don;t know what it is.
Keep it inbetween 25-28 degrees I reckon as that should be a generally safe temp area. Just remember that it needs turning.

Hopefully other might be able to provide more precise details.

it'll never hatch at those temps. birds' eggs incubate at 37.5 to 38.5
