I have a 3 year old woma female who just recently developed multiple tumours. I'm in Canada, the vet had to send the biopsy off to an American lab just to get it analyzed by someone with more reptile experience, and even they said they had never seen anything like it.

All the tumours are between the muscle wall and the skin, none are inside the body cavity. She eats and behaves as usual.

Has anyone here had anything like this? There are dozens of lumps, too many to be removed surgically. They came up fast, she had one, and two weeks later had well over a dozen, from her neck down..

Can anyone recommend a good herp vet in Aus who might have some insight to offer?

First off, sorry to hear that your woma is unwell.
Thankfully I dont have personal experience with this (touch wood) however i do know of a very knowledgable reptile vet that I use.
Here are his details, hopefully he can provide some sort of assistance, Im sure there are also plenty of other great vets here but he is the one I use and am very happy with him.

Dr Carmel at Warranwood vets is meant to be one of the best herp and exotics vets around. He used to be the vet working at the zoos, and now teaches other vet students how to do it. If there is anything to be possibly done, he'd probably be able to tell you.

I'll be honest though, if surgery isn't viable, it is probably going to limit your chances of treatment pretty severely. Good luck though, I hope you get some good news.

What ever you do cross Peter Wilson off your list... ;) And sorry to hear :(

hi, i get my 4yr old woma checked with Exotic Bird's and reptiles and the vet Deborah Monks acutally warned me about this with my woma for signs to be aware of etc and she said sadly it can be quite common and for me to be careful about not over feeding. Good luck with yours :)

I haven't heard of cancers being common in womas but fatty liver disease can occur from aspidites having a lot of fat in their diet. Don't feed fatty items and watch amounts and that shouldn't be a problem.

I wonder if there is any relationship between whether a woma is brumated and fatty liver disease?
