Is this possible to just have the click clack with my spotted in the enclosure using just heat lamps or wont this produce enough heat within the container?

??? do you want to put a cilck clack container in a large Enclosure ??
I would do the heat mate thing mate until the python gets big enough for the enclosure
I would be worried about it getting either to much or not enough heat ! with a mat you can regulate it better
Hope that answers the question

Yeah i was going to put the click clack in large enclosure but now will just use the heat mat thanks;)

I use a heat mat under the click clack inside an aquarium for my more specialised snakes. It helps me maintain a microclimate inside the aquarium, which in turn helps me stabilize the click clacks (humidity, air temperature ranges etc) in an otherwise totally airconditioned house.

Apart from humidity though, I cant see any other need for it.

iv done the click clack in the larger enclosure n not had any trouble

Ive got my stimmy in a click clack inside the bigger enclosure using heat etc from the bigger enclosure. Ive been to 2 pet shops around here and there doing the same, ive had no troubles at all

im doing it right now with my new elapids...

but then all the banks are heated with a heat cord coiled under a tile with a probe, but its working fine.

just out of interest...having the click clack in teh big enclosure, wouldnt the heat from the big enclosure keep the whole click clack at one set temp, and not offering a proper hot end and cool end?

well ive only got half the click clack sitting on the tile not the whole thing..

Well if pet shops are doing it , it must be a good thing :D
seriously i would not take advice from 95% of pet shops .

I have done it enclosures heated by cords as you can use them just like you would a normal click clack set up , put 1/3 or so of the tub on the cord ...

as for light heating i dont think you will get a proper gradient in the tub and would not do it .

i am doing it also with no ill effect you just have to place the click in a position that is just right

I'm also doing it. Havent had any dramas ever. Just make sure you have thermometers in the CC to monitor the temps and find the best spot to put it .

most people on this site will say dont do it because they know all ;)

i put my 10litre tub in my my enclosure.... and it seems to work perfectly fine.... my container is long enuff to have one side stay on the hot side and the other leaning towards the cool side... so yea.... works perfect

Any further thoughts on this topic guyz and galz for those that either run their click clacks separate or inside their enclosures???

I'm in the process of doing same but just wondering what the best way to go would be....

This is going to be for an intended Woma.

Many thanks.
