I wish they'd put the legislation and species list up on their website somewhere that was easy to access... Ecoaccess site is so bloody convaluted - no wonder they don't even know themselves what the hell is going on...

i spelt out boiga irregularis in particular (as that's what i'm interested in) and she still said no:(

She did say there is a list on their site under the legislation, will have a look later, good luck to me...;)

From the rules
"All common reptiles other than restricted reptiles are recreational reptiles"
It lists the "dangerous" elapids, sea snakes,
"All threatened or rare reptiles other than the following - "
crocs and sea turtles are listed underneath  the way i read that we can keep crocs and sea turtles, although the version im reading from is a couple years old, they might have proof read it by now, because i dont think we can keep crocs here :(

it's all very confusing, imo, u want something other than a python, ring em and ask em...... like i said they told me no to boiga irregularis and anything not a python.

Just buy the BTS Tan. As i mentioned in another thread i talked to someone who didnt have a licence and they were told that they just needed to take them to a vet and they could keep them legally without a licence, some of the ppl who work there are completely clueless.

In NSW we are allowed to keep many "Mildly venomous" snakes on basic license.
Jealous much?

not really we can keep any that arnt endangered, the only problem is finding them for sale. I actually think we have far better laws than NSW :p

I have since spoken with the epa again and a new person told me you can keep the "least concern" bts etc on a rec licence. I say again - it depends who you talk  , At least I have the correct info now and she also forwarded me a link to the "legislation" not guidelines so if anyone wants it pm me. Cheers

depends which state you are in.
