Just sharing some pics of a coral snake. It was rescued from a cat.

Sorry if they aren't the best quality, couldn't get the little bugger to say cheese.

lucky you!
my rescues are always browns, carpets or bts and the occasional small eye or rbb, i miss out on all the 'lesser found snakes'.
such a pretty little snake but!

Thanks, we usually only get browns around here as well, so i thought that this guy was kinda special.
I have also come across a few blind snakes, people confuse them with baby browns and ring me in a panic

we have coral snakes in australia???!! i thought they were only north american

Naxx,

"Coral snake" is only a common name.

The "Australian Coral snake" is Brachyurophis australis

The "North American Coral snake" is Micrurus fulvius

I was thinking the same Naxx, but if they were in Australia my wife would love one!

ahhhhh ok, different species! gotcha. remember, black on yellow, kill a fellow...or somthign like that. I always forget if its black on yellow or red on yellow. oh well i guess i just wont go handling random red yellow and black striped snakes

better not handle any random snakes, Naxx ;)

Thanks for the pics Casey, i have never seen one before

Naxx,

That old saying only works for the 2 genera of North American Coral Snakes, is Central and South America it loses any conviction....eg M spixii etc etc

Cheers,
Scott
