Hey guys i got some small crickets for my 3 month old marshies and i was wondering what could i put the crickets in so enough for them not to jump out when i attempted to catch them as i only want to put so little crickets in there enough for 2 each.

and also i dont want them to multiply either as im happy to get them from the local pet store???

Just set up a holding tub and use the egg crate you got with crickets in the tub. using a glad zip lock bag shake crickets off egg crate into bag remove excess crickets from bag then feed your frogs.

Or use empty toilet rolls - fold one in half length ways and put it inside another, they will crawl in and then just shake them out like Gibblore said

if i only put nothing into the bottom only the egg crate they wont multiply becuase they need moisture for the female crickets to lay hundreds ofs babay crickets.

also then i could add some calcium to that bag also, smart thinking :) if only i was that smart haha.

What size holding tub would be best for small crickets??

You can feed in your enclosure the method is up to you. But when you dust your crickets if they are fed in an enclosure with high water most of it will wash off. My advice for a feeding container is to go to cheap as chips and get a tank from them 13 bucks well spent.

If you get a spare cricket tub you can use that to dust them also.

I used to just use a storage tub that was deep enough for them to not be able to jump out. Open the lid of the cricket container while it's in the tub and poke at them until enough jump out into the tub then just close it back up.

If you don't want them to breed just feed off the females. Also - they need to be adults before they breed...

sweet guess the holding/storage tub is the way to go, got a variety of ways on doing it thanks guys for the replys. have to pick up my 3 new southern browns (litoria ewingi's) and my 2.5ft tank for my marshies so guess ill get them all at once

yeah thats right i forgot about that lol, but the small female crickets already have eggs inside them

marshies hate being seen when i find mine they go nuts and its impossible for me to catch them.

i just used a 10inch tupperware container in the cupboard i had but i opened the lid a little bit and let the crickets walk near the edge and then give the cantainer of crickets a little flick and they fell into the tupperware container, but ill get another cintainer which would be easier

Pop them in the fridge for 5 minutes and they will go to sleep.
