Everything gets x-rayed now so hopefully we will see more of these smugglers getting busted.

"Among the 86 exotic snakes and four native specimens found were Rainbow Boas, Kingsnakes, Cornsnakes, Trinket Snakes, Sand Boas, Red-tailed Boa Constrictors, Milk Snakes, Carpet Pythons, and Children’s Pythons. Some of these species had never been seen in Australia before."

I wonder which species had never been seen in Australia before.

Umm, there's a lot of different species of Kingsnakes in the States, possibly a few of them?

What got me was the fine - a measly $5,000. When you have that many exotics, what kind of deterrent is five grand?
