If there was no treatment available, you would die either way!! I understand that some snakes are more venomous than othersd though, a taipan is the last snake id ever want to get bitten by.
Ashley - King Browns rarely bite people, your thinking of eastern browns.Tiger snakes bite quite a few people each year as well.
i'll just say this. the comment about the inland tai not having killed anyone in my opinion is a very presumptious one. no "know" or "recorded" deaths have occured from the bite of this snake. but think of it this way. if you are alone out in fiercey country and you get tagged and as a result die, then you would not be able to report or record it. and by the time some might just find your body, the lilkelyhood of the true cause of death being discovered is pretty slim. on the flip side, if you are again tagged and get to hospital but as a result have to be put on life support to pull through, generally speaking from a medical point of view yo would i believe be technically dead
Herc, you are being presumtuous in adding extra meaning to what was a qualified statement
It would be presumtious to say there have never been any deaths from Inland Taipan bites and I for one have not stated that.
It was a response to the kill ratio comment based on available data.

You don't always die from highly venomous snake bites including King Browns just because you never received antivenom. Death adders have a fatality rate of about 50 percent without treatment where is the coastal Taipan is almost 100 percent fatal. The point I am really trying to make though is more to do with the difference between the actions of an attack. Some snakes are rather clumsy and not so accurate when they strike and others like the Taipan are super quick and relatively accurate. These differences combined with others factors definitely make some snakes species more dangerous than others in an attack situation. I don't think it can be much clearer than that.

Fair enough Herc, I assumed as it followed on from my comment.
Seriously though I would have thought
"Whats an intergrade?" to be one of the most dangerous snake questions.
