I would like to know details on keeping and caring for Darwin pythons. I know the basic but I can't find any thing in detail on the web.

Thanks
Ben

Okay, so you know the basics - good. Now what exactly are you wanting to know?

There are a few good books around - pick a couple up and do some reading.

Darwin pythons are much the same to keep as any other python knowing the basics are a good start you werent specife in your question so we dont know what exactly you wanted know good book keeping carpet pythons only about 10-12 or keeping and breeding carpet pythons all a good read and helpful

Hi snakes123, if this is your first python, a word of caution. Darwin, or top-end pythons, can be somewhat highly strung compared to the more eastern pythons. I do find that the hotter the climate, ie, your scrubbies, jungles and GTPs, the more fidgety they can be, and therefore, prone to snapping. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule.
I also agree that Mike Swan's book 'Keeping and breeding Australian pythons' is by far the best book around.

Order it online. I have 2 yearling Darwins and the male isn`t too bad of a handler, has never looked like he was going to bite me but is a little nervy until he settles down out of the cage. But dont let him get near the floor or he relaxs, drops off your arm and takes off across the floor. The female is quite nervy getting out of the cage and never really relaxs once out. She has struck at me but hasn`t tagged me yet. She is settling down with time but these 2 are very different to my diamonds who I can sit on the lounge with and let them go where they want.
If you havn`t had much to do with snakes before I would think twice before getting a darwin as a first. Just my opinion.
