Well I have been slack as, since these pics are from our trip to Darwin in June/July and I am only just putting them up now
Unfortunately most of the herps we saw were not in the wild but was still cool to see them.
This was our first day there, at the Territory Wildlife Park.
Saw this beautiful free ranging Mertens monitor.
A HUGE golden orb spider
Golden tree snakes
A wild looking caterpillar (anyone kn ow what species it is?)
One of the massive crocs at Crocasaurus Cove, which was awsome. I think it had one of the best reptile displays I have ever seen, and everything was really active!
Stacks on- The babies
A very impressive yellow croc
Adult pig nose turtles
Northern knob tailed gecko (I think?)
This is THE olive python that was in the news earlier this year for eating a womans maltese terrier in Katherine
A couple of Night Tigers
Little Burtens lizard
Stunning looking water python
How cute are these babies?
I want one!
Cute little spiny tail monitor
Sorry about the quality of this one, head of a file snake
Mitchell's monitor
Tawny dragon
Um... I'm sure they were just cuddeling (there was alot of this going on while we were there)
Northern spiny tailed gecko
Courtship of Mulga's (very cute)
A good sized BHP
Death adder
I got to hold Twisty, the water python
Our jumping croc cruise on the Adelaide river
Spotted a couple of hatchlings on the bank
This was the biggest croc in the river, over 5m
Female Gilbert's dragon? Saw her alot on this fence at our resort in Darwin city
Any of the gecko people want to identify this for me? Pic was taken at 5am while waiting for the bus to go to Kakadu
Not the best pic but this was taken at Nourlangie Rock in Kakadu, an excitable delma
Sorry, another shocking pic but the best we could do of a keelback at Fogg Dam
Also at Fogg Dam, black whip snake shedding its skin
The lake behind our resort Kakadu Aurora (sth alligator) at dusk
Dragon flys everywhere
No idea what sort of skink this is
??? gecko
Twin Falls
Another unidentified gecko
Didn't see any green tree frogs, just these little brown ones
Sleeping drogonfly
Our night walk yielded nothing but a frog. It was very cold and dry, so not alot was out.
Even our road cruising proved fruitless
