thats amazing thanx for the pik, so once the bonnet has started to peel how long does the whole body take to finish (what im trying to say is would i be able to sit there and watch the whole process ?)

None of mine have done the 'thrashing' normally lots of yawning and rubbing their heads on things, not on the rough stuff either... quite often on themselves, but they use the rough stuff to hook onto once they have the 'bib and bonnet' going on like the picture above, and i have always imagined it would be similar to taking off a stocking (not pantyhose) without using your hands or other leg...

LOL.. i've been confusing Prozac with Valium all this time.... that could explain a lot

yeah the little sucka has one speed... flat out, and goes by the name Nitro ... bites are getting less but hes not slowing down

she yawned and the 'bonnet' just popped straight up, like a jack in the box, then she rubbed her chin on the rock and the bottom peeled back, she crawled to her branch hooked her 'bib' onto a rough bit and 5 minutes later she was all pretty again, crawled straight out.. if they can hook onto something and it holds its pretty quick, if it slips of the anchor , or doesn't have one, it will take longer

absolutely you can sit and watch, (dont have the lights too bright though), depends on the size of the snake, young ones can get it off in the space of 5 - 10 minutes if all goes well. my 6 footer (the one in the picture posted above is her, when she was 18mths old) can take up to half an hour now, maybe she is just getting old and lazy (not yet 3yo)

just had another thought..lol Is it safe to take snake outside a day after shed, i no if you have a face peel and enter sunlight you will surely get sun burnt ? hmm just wondering while you's all have a little chuckle to yourselves

maybe some sunscreen so his new colour doesnt fade :) ...... sorry.....

i would give him a day or two, i tend to feed mine the day after as they are normally 'overdue' and hungry, so they get the day or two to recuperate, apparantly shedding is fairly stressful for them...

no wonder they need valium and prozac.

let us know when she has shed, and post pics and i'm glad to hear you are sleeping better :)
