Ok so i just offered my snake a feed... i noticed his eyes were a bit cloudy 2 days ago so didnt expect him to take it...

anyway i found him in his hide so i just offered the little mouse to him and his head shot out and took it as usual...

BUT as he coiled around it, the rest of his body came out of the hide and i realised hes half way through shedding!!!!!

is this bad that hes eaten during a shed... or is he just greedy???

PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!

thanks in advance

I thought id open this thread and your snake would be bleeding or prolapsing or something ?!?!?!

It will be fine.

Lol, is that like eating a sandwhich on the toilet??

Cos really, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but you're not gonna die from it...

He'll be right!

Hahaha that was a well put answer lol :lol:

You shouldn't have offered him food if you knew he was going to shed. Too late now though. .
Keep an eye on him and make sure that the skin doesn't get caught up around the food. if he has shed past his stomach then he should be alright.

Keep an eye on him because you may have to assist him if the skin gets stuck.

seriously there is no problem feeding snakes why there sheeding
i feed mine wile hes sheeding,
if they take it well there hungry the don't there not.
there is no problem feeding a snake while its sheeding

ah yes apologies for my slightly dramatic title  *newbie*

yes all his head and that is off, its about half way down his body...

i really didnt expect him to take it, but if hes hungry, he ought to have the choice

its just that i always seem to read that a snake wont eat during a shed, but i guess that doesnt necissarily mean it CANT eat

trust me to have the worlds hungriest snake:rolleyes:

thanks for the reassurance:)

well I wouldn't really recomend that, the snake won't die of starvation if you just wait a day!
but whats done is done and as BrownHash said just keep an eye on him he should be fine though

i got told my snake wouldnt take food if he is shedding but he took a mouse when i thought he was fine then a day later he shed and is now fine

so i dont think it matters if he dont want it he wont take it
