do snakes need to shed before first spring feed?

I have a 7-8 yo female childrenii python - before winter I put her in a bigger and taller enclosure and she has been doing her winter thing as usual (she normally doesn't eat for a good 6 months). recently she has been out and about and looks ready to be offered a feed.

my records show she has never shed over winnter and has always shed before her first spring feed. is this others experience also?

should i wait for her to shed or will it make no difference?

It won't make any difference. Let her have her food.
