Help...Dodgy shed and not eating.

I understand there is a sticky about snakes not eating, but my children's python has also had a dodgy shed recently, so I just wanted to check. I noticed him shedding at 4:30 in the morning, and there were bits of skin spread all around his enclosure. He was rubbing up against the rough edge of his rock, and I could see areas where he had rubbed around a lot near the edge of his enclosure. His shed came off in lots of little pieces. He hadn't eaten for a month before hand, and a week later, he still hasn't eaten. Our thermostat is not working at the moment, and the temperatures have been varying between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius, but there have also been some 29 degree days here in Brisbane recently. We have another snake (blonde spotted python male) in an enclosure next to him, and he has been eating fine. They share the same heat source (globe) and both have areas where they can get close to the heat.

We put him out in the sun for an hour today and he was quite active, but he still didn't take the mouse. His skin does not have its normal sheen. So far, he doesn't appear to be losing much condition, but he is growing at a much slower rate than his next door neighbour (the blonde one). Is this all normal behaviour or something I should be worried about?

Thank you.
