Does anyone keep (macro)chelodina rugosa or expansa .
Not sure how common they are in captivity but i thought id ask .

Yeah, both are in captivity but are rarely available.

what are the ones that are sold as broad shell turtles in victoria , most of them are probably just eastern long necks?

They are very easily to visually identify so there may be some C.expansa floating around down there? They do occur in the wild down there too.

jonno what would be a quick easy way of being able to spot the difference in an eastern long neck and expansia juvenile.?
As the ones i have seen looked exactly like eastern long necks?

They have much larger heads than eastern long necks, we have juveniles of both and they are very different......expansia's are not native to southern vic but are found around Melbourne

snakehandler, do you know anyone selling expansa in victora? I'd love to grab a couple of big ones.

No one selling big ones, most people that have them hang on tight to them, we have had lots of offers for our little ones, but we won't sell them either, great turtles though
