I just got a call from my old man to let me know what the go is with my birthday present.

Well, he told me what it is, and now im telling you.

Im not sure of the date yet but im going for a joy flight in a BAC Strikemaster Jet over the scenic area of Newcastle. I'll get to experience barrell rolls, loops and all other aspects of aerobatics in an ex-military fighter jet. The whole experience is going to be captured on dvd, so i'll try and change it to mpeg format when its done so i can put up a little vid of me absolutely packing myself!! LOL

I think a change in sig is on the cards too!!!

"i feel the need, the need for speed!!" LMAO

Info or a quick sticky beak can be found here http://www.jetfighter.com.au/missions-price.html

Cheers, Maverick...lol (Alan)

I've always loved the thought of getting a joy ride in a jet but I reckon I'd be spending the whole time trying not to vomit. Any time I've seen non-military people go in a jet they don't look too well :)

Hope you enjoy it though sherm. :)

My 21st was years ago. i remember being in bed by 12.30 cos my boyfriend at the time got drunk and knocked himself out in front of Camerns niteclub. Just doesnt seem to come close to a ride in a fighter jet or a rare Dragons win.

Simone.

Aw Sherm,
You'll be going all Air Force on us now!

Get them to tell you some maneouvres you can try in the car! lol

Nah, not doing the Air force thing EM, blue doesnt suit my eyes!!! LOL

And yeah, he's pretty good at birthdays and X-mas... lol ;)

For my Dad's 79th birthday this year, my brother and I got him a flight in a Tiger Moth. Not as fast as a jet, but as Dad had first learnt to fly in a Tiger Moth 60 years ago, he really enjoyed it. They even let him fly it.

:p

Hix

Nice work hix!!!!

Id love to go for a flight in an open canopy bi-plane at some stage too!!

I've done the Tiger Moth joy-flight aerobatics.
Spent most of my time trying not to puke though.
Amazing experience, you have a puny harness holding you in, doing a barrel roll or loop you think you are gonna fall out.... till you realise you are being pushed into your seat at about 3G's.

I got told by a mate to ask the pilot to do a cuban-8 which means i'll go from about +6g's to about -3g's in all of 3 seconds!!! That should be fun!!

I used to do aerobatics with my radio controlled P51 mustang, so im gonna have to hit up the pilot to do the stunts i did with the plane so i can feel what it would have been like to be in the little plane i was controlling!! And i know how a cuban-8 goes so im pretty sure if he can do that bad-boy then i will go home a very very happy boy that day!!!
