Dse licence renewal questions

Ok so I know I've posted this thread before but didn't really get the info needed.. Basically I just wanted to know why would happen if u didn't renew ur licence for let's say a yr and now u wanna renew it but dnt wanna get in trouble..basically that's what I'm worries about,getting a fine or even worse having dse come take my herps.. So I rang dse today and was told that after 6 months you have to apply for a new licence,and they still have ur records..nothing was menchened about fines or penalties altho why would they tell u that right.. Course I rang anonymously..anyway so I want to apply again but am afraid they will check and see my last return which said I still had wildlife.. And they nver sent me a renewal notice anyway.. Point is..I dunno what to do and am totally terrified I will have my herps taken away from me..so can anyone give me some advice as to do..I'm in Vic btw

Its up to the indivdual to make sure there licence is renewed no one is going to give you the information you require obvisouly if you keep herps without a licence its illegal and they can confiscate any herps you own you will have to call them again just apply for a new licence they may or may not check your previous details

they always send a renewal notice and if it had gotten lost in the mail it is up to you to make contact and get them to send you another one . Better to get it all sorted immediately as you dont want to risk getting your reptiles taken off you.

Just renew your licence. You won't get a fine or have your reptiles taken from you. Keeping up to date with things would save you the stress, not that you have anything to stress about.

Well I haven't renewed it past that 6 month period so yeh I am pretty stressed.. I did try renewing it and they never sent me the information and then I jst ne'er did it after that and the longer it got the more I got freaked out.. I am going to apply again I jst really can't afford a fine atm and def am worried they may take my pets..

I renewed mine a few months late last year, had a lot of stuff going on and rang them an explained my renewal form never came. They sent me out new forms as I was going on advanced and I reapplied and all was well.

I am personally aware of two separate instances of licences being allowed to lapse in excess of twelve months. Both cases were easily resolved by communicating with DSE, no fines and no seizures.
