Without trying to be wise after the event, I would guess it is orbital cellulitus which is a generalised term for a systemic infection exibiting in the sinuss. The eye , brain and nose are all connected via the sinus's and so what effects one can infect the other. Even after cure there can be long lasting side effects from pressure on the brain during the disease process. The question is what and where did the infection came from? My understanding is that it is a natural progression from mouth infections.

You are quite possibly absolutely correct
It had a bad mouth infection when we got it
But that responded well to treatment so I thought it was not the problem

cellulitus in humans comes from reduced immune system...if the poor thing had been in bad conditions and stressed before it came to you that would make sense as stress lowers the immune system.....very very sad

on a happier note....how is mow hawk !!

Mowhawk is fine and is just hitting the growth spurt they get at around 2 metres
Starting to thicken up and looking great
Still a small hard lump on side of top jaw [maybe a broken bone??]
But it doesnt seem to worry it at all and feeding well so Im not worried
