I dont know if that light on is UV, it may well be UV. The water should be higher though, its obviously only that low so the turtle doesnt drown. The tank doesnt look very turtle, and its a quite a big tank. It just should be filled with more water. Im sure someone on here can offer it a better home. I have already contacted the seller and told them i have a good home here if need be. And told them that live animals on eBay is illegal, and selling to an unlicensed buyer is illegal. I know in VIC you dont need a license for those turtles!!

i wouldnt report it to ebay because then he would have to remove it. MEANING he will keep it. Poor turtle. The only thing I would do with that tank is break it. My turtle has a 2 meter tank. Lucky thing. I hate seeing people who keep animals this way. I think its too easy to get a licence sometimes.

I think there would normally be more water in the tank, look the heater is partly out of the water and the platform in the middle looks like its meant for him to get onto. Im not saying that sized tank is really good enough though. A turtle that size should really be in a pond.

Wait a second mate, dont think that that you dont have the full story from looking at a few pics this person is obviously intentionally tormenting the animal, we all need to send them abusive messages as much as possible. We all know that they know the turtle should have UV yet they dont provide it. Sure they may normally have enough water in the tank but look at the photo clearly they couldnt have been doing a water change or anything like that. Look at the turtle i mean have you ever seen a pic of a turtle that is any closer to death before. The worst possible thing to do in a case like this would be to offer constructive advice

On a slightly serious not, that setup is better than most petshops i have seen and they actually go around telling ppl they know what they are doing. The turtle doesnt appear to have fungus(main problem from not using UV) and there is absolutely no way i could tell if it had a soft shell from looking at the pic.

Seriously dont diss all pet shops. Alot of pet shops up here onthe northside arent bad at all. I havent come across a bad one yet!! The 2 stores i know that have reptiles keep them in tip top condition! On the main note the ***TURTLE IS NOT FOR SALE!*** If you go onto the items description it says comes with "turtle", but ive asked him and told him that the turtle is being mistreated and why i think it is, and that he cant sell to anyone unlicensed etc etc, and hes replied with the turtle is not for sale just the tank and stand and accessories are for auction. But yet he has advertised comes with "Turtle" Sounds damn dodgy to me! Either way i dont think hes parting with this turtle now that everyone has msged him. Its just dodgy allround!!!

just thought i would let you all know, I sent this lad an email asking about his turtle. He replied with
"I am not sure if you need a license"

WHAT THE?? this tells me he hasn't got one. lets hope he doesn't get caught

Yay its been removed!

Edit: Whoops, didnt realise there was a second page sorry!

i sent an email to him offering to buy it...

hope he accepts.... poor turtle

For those of you contacted him through the ebay system and got a reply, who might want to get this turtle into care, you could still probably respond to his message, as long as his user account hasn't been deleted of course, and organise to buy it off him. It might have a better chance of decent care then.

Ah, Forensick, we replied at the same time....

i started bidding on it when i saw it...

it could live with my other turtle

wasnt saying you would mistreat it, just saying if another uneducated member of the public got it they wouldnt know any better

check out how he keeps his turtle!

thankgod he is selling it.

i asked, the light isn't even UV
you can see from the pics there is nowhere to bask.
and water that shallow can only be cruel!

atm i am bidding on it to rescue the turtle....
if i do win it tho, do you think the tank would be useful for anything?

how much for the tank id be happy to keep my beardies in it

i know.... its why i started bidding!
if someone who didn't know better bought it they'd assume the way he kept it was ok...
